Sorry, Little Girl

Some journeys are worth remembering,
And it was such a journey.
There was peace and joy in every face,
They seemed to be happy, so was I.

Station after station came,
Some lovely people left the wagon,
Some wonderful people came in.

I wondered how beautiful this world was,
With love and prosperity everywhere.
Hope that life could always be like this,
Smooth and easy, surrounded by such charming people.

The train halted, as I approached my destination,
And then she happened...
She stepped in with her glittering eyes,
Jostling her way through the apathetic crowd.

She came closer and stood right next to me.
She was the smallest creature there,
No taller than my knees.
Her eyes as sad as anyone's could ever be.

She tugged at my fingers, begged me for money,
And the mirage of my flawless world,
Came crashing on me.
I kept staring at her, as she moved away.
My hands still trembling, my eyes giving me away.

Some journeys are worth remembering,
And it was such a journey.
When a little girl came and changed me forever,
Her innocent eyes haunting me everyday.

The Struggle Within

What is holding me back
Inhibiting all the powers I have.

What is the path that I need to take,
to lead a really happy life.

My weaknesses have always torn me down,
But what are these I need to find out.

Blurry fog cover my dreams,
I have no certainty in what I see.

Isn't it time to win, time to rise?
Yes it is time,
To give a reason to my life.

Define my goals, define my dreams,
And then build myself to earn the win.

We all live, and everyone die
But life is more than just staying alive.
